Lausanne, 29 September 2006 – The Edipresse Group has just signed an agreement in principle to acquire 20% of the share capital of the internet publisher Virtual Network SA. Edipresse will have an option to increase its shareholding to 40% by the end of 2010. The transaction is expected to be effective in January 2007.
As part of its ongoing development, the Rouge fm Group is taking a majority stake in the share capital of Radio Lac, a Geneva-based private radio station. This move will enable Rouge fm to pursue its strategy, instigated in 2005, of building up a radio group based in French-speaking Switzerland. Edipresse is backing this drive and intends to work together with Rouge fm in developing its FM radio stations and new digital audiovisual products.
