Taiwan is experiencing a revival on many different economic, social and cultural levels. Adding to this dynamism, Edipresse has entered the market with the launch in June of Taiwan Tatler, a unique monthly publication offering readers an intimate close-up with the people, happenings and events of Taiwan’s social elite.
Taiwan Tatler is an intelligent and luxurious chronicle of Taiwan’s high society and those who want the inside track on Taiwan life, from society events and cosmopolitan living to traditional culture and luxury style.
Taiwan Tatler offers all this in four dedicated sections: Faces – the best parties and most glamorous faces from Taiwan and the world; Life – art and collecting, bespoke travel, luxury interiors, fine food and wine; Features – in-depth interviews with well-known personalities and savvy takes on current affairs and fashion; and Style – the latest trends and products from the world’s leading luxury brands.
Taiwan Tatler will be distributed to Edipresse’s exclusive high-society database, as well as to elite members of the China Trust Premier Card and Taishin Financial wealth management business, luxury European car owners and other carefully selected affluent individuals. The magazine will also be found at five-star hotels and golf resorts, and in key commercial areas. This means the magazine will have unrivalled insider access to the most privileged of Taiwanese social circles.
This is underlined by Taiwan Tatler’s inaugural cover, which features Maggie Tsai, CEO of Fubon Art Foundation and one of the leaders of cultural life in Taipei. In an exclusive interview, the famous art enthusiast and respected collector talks about her burning passion for art and her collection of works by sought-after Chinese artist Chang Yuh.
Tibère Adler, CEO of the Swiss-based Edipresse Group, notes with enthusiasm the company’s entry into Taiwan: “Up until now, Taiwan was one of the last markets in Asia where we were not present. We are delighted that Taiwan Tatler will be our first publication in Taiwan. It’s a product that’s perfectly suited for Taiwan. But we will not stop there. We believe that Taiwan offers many possibilities for us, and look forward to rolling out the entire range of publishing products, including some of the Asia Tatler brand extensions, which have performed very well in other Asian countries.”
Taiwan Tatler’s ultra-glam launch party on June 6 was graced by a who’s who of Taiwan society and set against the backdrop of the Silk Palace of the magnificent National Palace Museum. Pansy Ho, famous businesswoman and daughter of the king of gambling Stanley Ho of Macao, made a special guest appearance from Hong Kong to celebrate with more than 200 of Taiwan’s socialites, fashionistas and press.
Commenting on the launch, Barrie C. Goodridge, Edipresse Asia’s CEO, said, “We are delighted by the response to our first issue. The people who make the buzz have really welcomed Taiwan Tatler to their island and it shows in the faces at this party, in the people on the pages of the first issue and in the incredible advertising support from our brand partners.”
