The Edipresse Group (SWX: EDI) has today acquired a 60% majority shareholding in Focus Ediciones SL, a privately-held publisher which specializes in men's titles, one of the fastest-growing segments of the magazine market. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed by the parties.

Focus Ediciones, which currently has annual turnover in the region of EUR 4 million has been active in the Spanish market since 1992 and publishes the country's leading men's magazine, Revista DT (Downtown). It has just launched a second high-end men's lifestyle publication, NOX.

Mr. Daniel Medvene and his wife Mrs. Isabel Suárez, the company's founders, continue to hold a 40% stake in the company. Mr. Medvene will carry on running the business for the long term as General Manager, and Mrs. Suárez as Editorial Director. Mr. Xavier Elies, General Manager of Edipresse Hymsa SA, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Focus Ediciones SL.

The shareholders plan to jointly develop new products in the men's magazine segment.

With this transaction, the Edipresse Group has further strengthened its position as the leading magazine publisher in the Iberian Peninsula.
