An important agreement has been signed between the Corbaz and Edipresse Groups, whereby Edipresse is buying from the Corbaz family a majority stake (68%) in the share capital of their family-owned company.
The Corbaz Group is active in newspaper and print facilities, as well as in publication of daily newspapers in the Canton of Vaud (La Presse Riviera Chablais, La Presse Nord Vaudois).
The Corbaz family has decided to seek a buyer for the entire company. It has chosen Edipresse as a result of the closeness of the two enterprises, both as regards their professionalism and their local Vaudois roots.
From an editorial standpoint, the two partner enterprises will give priority to developing the current publications (La Presse Nord Vaudois, La Presse Riviera Chablais, 24 heures), with two shared objectives :
- Maintaining for the long term local press titles prepared by Vaudois for the Canton of Vaud;
- Enriching the content of the three daily newspapers, while respecting the regional diversity of the Canton and allowing sufficient autonomy to each editorial team.
With regard to print facilities, the two companies will pool their equipment, recognized expertise and market knowledge, while retaining their very high customer satisfaction requirements.
No organisational or structural changes are foreseen in any area (publishing or printing); current activities will carry on as they are, without any redundancies as a result of the change of the majority shareholder.
The agreement is subject to the approval of the Federal Cartel Office, who has already been notified.
