Roddy Yu began his career in advertising field as accounts servicing in 1976, and worked with a couple of advertising agencies before joining the Sing Tao Limited as Advertising Manager.

In 1983, Roddy Yu was appointed as the Associate Director of Marketing and Business Development of Sing Tao Limited and responsible for all the advertising sales performance of the company's Chinese newspapers and magazines.

Roddy Yu was also a freelance writer to many leading magazines in Hong Kong on motoring, travel, investment and many others. Before joining Hong Kong Tatler, Roddy Yu was with mingpao.com.
