The Edipresse Group, through its wholly owned subsidiary Edipresse International SARL, has today finalized arrangements to increase its holding in its Portuguese joint venture ACJ from 33 1/3% to 50%.
ACJ is the leading magazine publisher in Portugal, with a wide product range and annual turnover in excess of EUR 66 million (CHF 100 million).
Edipresse and its co-shareholder the Impresa Group are together acquiring the holding of the departing third shareholder Abril Jovem Investments Corporation for an amount of EUR 23 million (CHF 34 million). Final closing will occur by November 14, 2002 at the latest.
Following the transaction, Edipresse, with its increased stake in ACJ and its existing extensive activities in Spain, will be the clear leader in the Iberian magazine market.
