On 30 September 2009, Edipresse Polska announced the acquisition of Marquard Media’s "Pani Domu", an important publication in the women’s advisory segment as well as two true story monthly publications "Cienie i Blaski" and "Sekrety Serca".

 

In parallel, Edipresse Polska will sell its monthly shopping magazine "Hot Moda i Shopping" to Marquard Media.

 

The weekly "Pani Domu" was launched on the Polish market in 1994 by Axel Springer and has had a strong position along side other advisory magazines. Among the other titles in this segment are "Przyjaciółka", "Tina", and "Naj". In 2007, the publication was taken over by Marquard together with "Oliwia", "Cienie i Blaski" and "Sekrety Serca".

 

According to current official industry data, “Pani Domu” sells on average 275’341 copies.

 

« We've been interested in strengthening our position in the advisory segment for a long time now », said Zbigniew Napierała, the President of Edipresse Polska Board. « Until now we've been present in this segment with the bi-weekly magazine "Przyjaciółka", which after the very successful re-launch, has reached a leadership position in circulation with an average 460 348 copies. The two new additions to our true story line of publications, brings us up to 5 titles in this segment. Our company portfolio has now become aligned in 4 major segments: women’s advisory, people and celebrities, parenting and true stories. With such a comprehensive portfolio, we are confident that we have a very valuable and unique offering to both readers and advertisers ».

 

The financial details of the transaction has not been revealed. Thirteen people from the Marquard Polska editorial team have been offered positions at Edipresse Polska and five “Hot Moda i Shopping” employees will be hired by Marquard Polska.
