Despite difficult economic conditions, reader and Internet user loyalty has been confirmed and is even strongly increasing online.
Le Matin remains the undeniable media brand in French-speaking Switzerland. Le Matin stays the first paid-for daily with 246'000 readers.
With le Matin Dimanche and its 520'000 readers, the brand is present every day of the week. Today, in addition, it is a multimedia brand with a strong online presence (over 700000 unique visitors per month on average since January 2009) and mobile access is constantly expanding (10% of traffic comes from mobile).
Le Matin Bleu remains the incontestable leader of the free press with 559'000 readers, ahead of20 minutes which has also grown and now reaches 526'000 readers.
Regional newspapers are also proving their robustness and stability: 24 heures (229'000 readers) sees its readership remain stable while Tribune de Genve has grown to reach a total of 159'000 readers. The titles websites have never experienced such growthbefore: on average since the beginning of the year, compared to last year for the same period, the number of unique visitors doubled for 24 heures (423'000 unique visitors) and increased by 37% for Tribune de Genve (457'000 unique visitors).
The business press is healthy. Bilan increased its readership by 14'000 and its number of unique online visitors has tripled compared to the previous period.
The online network for Edipresse publications reached its highest numbers since the websites launch with 33 million page views since July, a traditionally quiet month for the web (+ 27% compared to July 2008).
